BIOGRAPHY
Jason Kendall is a multi-talented, full-time working musician and songwriter based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He stays true to his passion for original music composition and performance by playing at a number of music venues throughout the Pittsburgh region and beyond. His latest rock-opera/concept album, When at Last we Saw the Sunrise, chronicles the adventures of a fictional rocker, J.C. Pennypacker, as he navigates the waters from local stardom to international fame – and all of the trappings that come with it. The songs included on the album run the gamut from glam-rock to electronic to folk and a few ballads as well. It is a work that was crafted over several years, the ultimate vision being a stage production featuring each one of the musical selections from the album.
In addition to writing and recording original music, he owns and operates Jason Kendall Productions where he performs regularly at popular Pittsburgh venue sas a solo artist (piano, acoustic guitar, saxophone) or as part of an acoustic duo, jazz trio, or dance band for numerous functions annually such as private events and weddings. Along with turntable artist Digital Dave Lander Jason is part of the innovative electronic jazz duo Two Turntables and a Saxophone.
In addition to live performance Jason is also a highly rated recording session musician and arranger., working with dozens of projects internationally and across the United States.
Giving back to the community through music is paramount to Jason and is reflected in the many community events and fundraisers where he and his band provides music for a number of organizations throughout the year such as The Family House, The Children's Home, The Arthritis Foundation, The Alzheimers Association, Best Buddies, and the UPMC Hillman Cancer Benefit. In addition, Jason Kendall Productions regularly hosts a holiday fundraiser to benefit The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank each year. Jason performs regularly for events hosted by the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Jason also frequently travels to Hilton Head Island , S.C. where he performs with members of the islands talented and diverse professional musical community.
